Holyu00a0Name coach Diego D'Souza slammed District Sports Office's (DSO) decision to hold matches on Janmashtmi, after his U-17 team were knocked out in the second round by St Joseph's (Wadala) at Azad Maidan yesterday.u00a0Holy Name lost 1-3 on penalties.

D'Souza's team was missing four key players, who stayed away to be part of the Dahi Handi celebrations. "I didn't have my playing XI as it was Dahi Handi. I had to personally call and request parents to send their kids for the match. No matches should be played on holidays," said D'Souza.

DSO city sports officer, Uday Pawar, said: "We must to finish all local matches soon, as the state level matches start next month. Some matches that were cancelled due to rains at Naigaon Police Ground were rescheduled here (Azad Maidan) today."
