Lindsey Vonn's new boyfriend, an National Football League coach, knows what the skier feels when she crashes. Kenan Smith has helped Vonn lately as she fights through a series of injuries. “Definitely, the injuries are very relatable. In football they get hit all the time,” Vonn said after finishing 12th in a World Cup Super-G.

Smith attended his first ski races in Cortina, Italy. “Here everyone is right on top of you. In the NFL we're separated. She's got to walk out through people,” he added. Vonn and Smith weren't bashful, as they shared a number of smooches at the Italian event. Vonn recently returned to racing after a string of injuries. Having come to Italy expecting to see Vonn, Smith instead provided moral support.

“It's one of those things, unfortunately it happens, but she's strong enough to bounce back from it,” he said.
