Magicians lose again

Ranchi Rhinos handed the Mumbai Magicians their second consecutive defeat yesterday with a 3-1 drubbing in the Hockey India League at the Birsa Munda Stadium. This was the Ranchi team's second win on the trot.

The home team took the lead in the 9th minute as Vikas Choudhary struck a brilliant reverse hit into the net. The Rhinos upped the tempo and doubled their lead in the 23rd minute through Mandeep Singh.

The Rhinos made it 3-0 in the 29th minute through a penalty corner by Austin Smith. Chinglensana Singh later got a consolation goal for the Mumbai team.
