Maharashtra retained their hold on the men's Inter-State Tennis Championship trophy without dropping a set, routing Indian Railways 2-0 in the final played at Bhilai on Saturday. The Maharashtra team asserted their dominance when Aryan Goveas defeated Prithvi Shekhar 6-2, 6-3 in the opening singles rubber, following which Arjun Kadhe completed the rout, defeating PC Vignesh 6-0, 6-2.
In the semi-finals, Maharashtra outplayed Karnataka 2-0 after demolishing Telangana 2-0. Results: Finals: Aryan Goveas beat Prithvi Shekhar 6-2, 6-3; Arjun Kadhe beat PC Vignesh 6-0, 6-2 .
