Maheshâu00c2u0080u00c2u0088Mangaonkar and Harinder Pal Sandhu advanced to the second qualifying round at the CCI International JSW Indian Squash 2016 yesterday.
Mangaonkar needed four games to oust his Swiss rival Dimitri Steinmann 1-9, 8-11, 11-3, 11-2 while Sandhu prevailed over Indian compatriot Ashish Keskar 11-7, 5-11, 11-9, 6-11, 12-10 in five games after a protracted one-hour battle.
Meanwhile, Suraj Chand and Aditya Jagtap bagged the boys' under-17 and men's titles respectively in the JVPG-SRAM Winter Squash Open 2016.
The top-seeded Chand got the better of second seed Deepak Mandal 11-7, 11-3, 8-11, 11-6 while Jagtap beat Aishwary Singh 11-8, 11-7, 11-6.
