Ex India captain Dilip Vengsarkar said varsity cricket is a significant stepping stone for young women looking to go on and play the game professionally. "I am glad that the inter-varsity women’s tournament is to be held in Mumbai for the first time."
"It is a good opportunity for girls to showcase their talent," said Vengsarkar at a function to announce the Mumbai University-Rizvi College joint initiative at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday.
