World No 1 Rafael Nadal battled back from a set down to defeat arch rival Roger Federer and reach the final of the Madrid Open this evening.
Nadal, the defending champion having beaten Federer in last year's final, extended his winning streak on clay to 37 successive matches after overcoming the third seed 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 in two hours and 36 minutes.
In a match full of opportunities for both players,u00a0 home favourite Nadal was the more clinical.
