New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulating women single's badminton silver medallist PV Sindhu was among the top five Facebook posts during Rio Olympic Games, the company said on Tuesday.


Across the globe, 277 million people had 1.5 billion interactions related to the Rio Olympic Games.



"Over 15 million people used Profile Frames to show support for their favourite teams. India along with Philippines and Pakistan were the top countries using Facebook's Profile Frames," it added.

American swimmer Michael Phelps' live broadcast before his final team race, where he confirmed he is going to retire, was the most-viewed live broadcast by an Olympic athlete during the Games.

Other top posts included Cristiano Ronaldo congratulating Usain Bolt, Brazilian footballer Neymar's victory, Zac Efron surprising US artistic gymnast Simone Biles and Usain Bolt winning gold medals.
