Kolkata: Saurabh Sangvekar of Maharashtra created national record in the men's 400m freestyle event as Asian Games bronze medallist Sandeep Sejwal also walked away with the top honours in the 200m breaststroke in the ongoing Senior National Aquatics Championship at Subhash Sarobar.

Sangvekar clocked 3:56.17s as he bettered Sajan Prakash's last year's timing of 3:58.51s. Sajan had to remain satisfied with silver. In the men's 200m breaststroke, Sejwal of Railways clocked 2:16.10 s to win the gold followed by compatriot Anoop Augustin and Karnataka's SP Lakshit.
The second national record was created by Madhu PS of Services in the men's 100m backstroke with a timing of 57.95 which was better than MB Balakrishnan's 58.30s set in 2010. Gujarat's Maana Patel created the third national record of the day in the women's 100m backstroke with a timing of 1:05.90s while Damini K Gowda and Vania kapoor Achutan.
