Sarfaraz Khan, famous for his record-breaking 439 in the Harris Shield in 2009, heaved a sigh of relief yesterday in the alleged overage controversy.
According to a bone test conducted on him recently, Sarfaraz's age does not tally with the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) records. His date of birth is October 22, 1997 according to which his current age should be 13 years two months. However, the report showed his age as 15 years and eight months.
Not convinced by the reports, Sarfaraz's father Naushad personally conducted a bone test on his son at the MCA-authorised Hinduja Hospital in Mahim and the reports, a copy of which is available with MiD DAY, showed his age as 13 years and seven months.
"I have submitted the new bone test report to the MCA and they will look into the matter and are likely to take a decision on this issue in the next managing committee meeting," Naushad said.
