Ghosal’s run ended quite abruptly with the former finalist James defeating him 11-7, 11-7, 11-7 in a second round match late last night.
The two are stablemates, having trained a lot together in Leeds but in their eight meetings earlier James had never let his grip slip.
James is ranked 24th while Ghosal was 17th but the difference in ranking mattered little as early leads helped James’ cause.
Also Saurav slipped into too many unforced errors during the match which lasted little over 40minutes.
