Thanks to scrambled translation, chefs from the Norwegian Winter Olympics team found themselves with 13,500 unwanted eggs after placing an order for 1,500 eggs. Chef Stale Johansen told Norwegian newspaper, Aftenposten, that his team received half a truckload of eggs and that there was no end to the delivery, adding, "it was absolutely unbelievable".
Questions arose on what could be the cause of the mistake. Some attributed the faux pax to Google translator that was used to place the online order, but the reason is unlikely to full explain the error. On the brighter side, according to Johansen, the chefs were able to return the 13,500 surplus to the grocer.
