Sharma twins, Rujuta rule the pool

The Sharma twins Apurva and Rahul, brought joy to Vaze College as they shared six record-breaking golds in the boys under-17 category of the two-day GMAAA Inter-School/Jr College Swimming championships hosted by Khar Gymkhana

The Sharma twins Apurva and Rahul, brought joy to Vaze Collegeu00a0 as they shared six record-breaking golds in the boys under-17 category of the two-day GMAAA Inter-School/Jr College Swimming championships hosted by Khar Gymkhana. Apurva triumphed in the 50m freestyle, 100m breast stroke, 100m butterfly and 100m individual medley, while Rahul emerged best in the 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke.

Apurva emerged as the outstanding performer, aggregating 38 points with four golds, two silver in the boys under-17 category.

u00a0Hormuz Baliwalla, the Jai Hind college boy, thrived in the boys under-19 section. Rujuta Bhatt from Jasudben (Khar) claimed four golds with new record timings in the girls under-15 events. She emerged best inu00a0 the 50m and 100m freeststyle,u00a0 100m butterfly and the 100m individual medley.

Sharing the girls honours on the concluding day with Rujuta were under-17 topper Sukanya Nagfernandes, of Mithibai college, who aggregated 40 points with 5 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze and Jai Hind's Avanti Merchant, who, like her counterpart in the boys under-19, was unchallenged on her way to aggregating 42 points with
six golds.
