Boys' U-19 top seed Samir Mistry of Otters Club registered contrasting wins to advance to the quarter-finals, in the Matunga Gymkhana Junior Open Squash Tournament on Tuesday.
Mistry kicked off his campaign in the competition with a hard-fought 11-8, 11-6 first round win over qualifier Prithvir Solanki of Chembur Gymkhana. Later, he found his form to crush unseeded Sikander Soin of MCA, Bandra 11-1, 11-2, 11-4 in the pre-quarter-finals. Mistry led other fancied players into the last eight including Arjun Kochhar of CCI, Sumer Rao of Otters, Dattaraj Nadkarni of Matunga Gym and Rohan Paranjape of Willingdon Sports Club.
