Jinay scored the solitary goal off a Tabish Ansari free-kick in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association's boys under-16 football tournament (Div II) at Azad Maidan yesterday. His lone strike against St Lawrence, Kandivli meant Utpal Sanghvi qualified for the semi-finals.
u00a0"I saw him playing with other kids and found him good enough to be in the squad. I asked him to join us and since then, he has been doing really well in the practice sessions. Today, he showed us a glimpse of his capabilities," said Shamraj.
Jinay, never thought of taking football seriously until his coach asked him to join the team. But Jinay is thinking of making a career in cricket rather than football. "I love football as much as I love cricket. I can't decide between the two but when it comes to choosing as a career, I would opt for cricket as it has more scope in our country," he said.
