Rizvi declared their first innings at 798-3 with Vaibhav scoring 394, Yash Salunke scoring an unbeaten 215 and Shoaib Siddique 110 not out. Rizvi Springfield bowlers Aakash Yadav (4-12) and Nabeel Azeez (3-24) then bowled out St Anne's for a paltry 69 in the first innings. St Anne's were reeling at 10-2 at stumps after following on.
Vaibhav's 272-ball knock was laced with 38 fours and 14 sixes. “I was aiming for 400. I am disappointed to be dismissed six runs short,” said Vaibhav, who added 156 runs to his overnight score of 238. Meanwhile, in another match, Swami Vivekanand International School's bowler Hem Patel took 14 wickets (6-19 and 8-35) to help the Borivli school beat CNM (Santacruz) by an innings and 204 runs. CNM were all out for 66 in 24 overs in the first innings and for 73 runs in 20.5 overs in their second outing, in reply to SVIS' 343.
