India's star boxer Vijender Singh yesterday blamed the team management for delaying the protest costing him his middleweight 75kg semi-final bout against England's Anthony Ogogo. Leading 3-0, Vijender was penalised twice in the final round ufffd once for hitting Ogogo on the back of the head, and the second time for holding him.
The penalties ufffd carrying two points each ufffd saw the Indian lose 3-4, shockingly without even one point being earned off the Englishman's glove.

The Indian Boxing Federation thereafter registered a protest but it was rejected. "We should have protested then and there after the fight. But due to the delay on our part, it was rejected," Vijender said.

When asked about the reason for the delay, he snapped: "You need to ask the coach why we delayed the protest."

The Beijing Olympic bronze-winner and World No 1 however, preferred to forget the past and look ahead.
"I have already started my training for the Asian Games (in Guangzhou in November). I prepared very hard for the CWG and one defeat cannot take everything away.

"The Asiad and the Olympics (London 2012) are yet to come," he signed off.u00a0
