WWE Raw saw the return of WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar following his humiliating defeat to Goldberg at Survivor Series 2016. Brock Lesnar not only showed his competition that he is well over the loss, but also his intentions for the Royal Rumble.

Brock Lesnar displayed his superiority over WWE superstars such as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman and Sami Zayn. Brock Lesnar attacked them all and hit the F5 on Reigns during the opening of WWE Raw.

Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho and Braun Strowman later faced Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn in a tag team match. Strowman finally hit Zayn with a powerslam for the win. Owens and Jericho attacked Reigns but Rollins made the save and hit Chris Jericho with a Pedigree. Owens then hit Rollins and Reigns with chair shots and powerbombed Reigns on the announcers table.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass defeated Rusev and Jinder Mahal in their tag team match. Cesaro and Sheamus faced Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a match for the WWE Raw tag team titles and successfully defended it after being disqualified when Sheamus accidently kicked the referee.

WWE Raw women's champion Charlotte made fun of her Royal Rumble opponent Bayley by showcasing some of her old poems and pictures. Bayley came out and showed she was not intimidated and that she will win the women's title at Royal Rumble 2017.

WWE Raw also paid homage to Jimmy Snuka, who passed away at age 73 with a package of videos on the WWE Hall of Famer.
