Warsaw: Poland's Anita Wlodarczyk became the first woman to break the 80m-barrier when she set a new world record in the hammer with a throw of 81.08m on Saturday.

She improved on her own world record of 79.58m which she set in Berlin in August 2014.

Twenty-nine-year-old Wlodarczyk reached her new mark at the Festival of Throwers in Wladyslawowo on the Baltic coast.
