Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal, in a Twitter post recently, shared her opinion regarding the security breach of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Punjab on January 5.

PM Modi's convoy was halted on the flyover in Bathinda, Punjab for almost 20 minutes following a roadblock due to farmers protesting. Nehwal shared a post on Twitter and wrote, "No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists."

South actor Siddharth retweeted Saina Nehwal's post and wrote, "Subtle c**k champion of the world... Thank God we have protectors of India. Folded hands. Shame on you Rihanna."

However, Siddharth's post led to him facing a backlash and being trolled online by Twitterati. Moreover, Saina Nehwal's husband Parupalli Kashyap went on to Twitter to reply to Siddharth's comment. Kashyap wrote, "This is upsetting for us … express ur opinion but choose better words man. I guess u thought it was cool to say it this way. #notcool #disgraceful."

Saina Nehwal too, went on to take a stand and respond to Siddharth's tweet. Nehwal wrote, Ya I’m not sure what he meant. I used to like him as an actor but this was not nice. He can express himself with better words but I guess it’s Twitter n u remain noticed with such words n comments."

Siddharth also went on to clarify his statement and said that he did not mean to be disrespectful. Siddharth wrote, ""COCK & BULL". That's the reference. Reading otherwise is unfair and leading! Nothing disrespectful was intended, said or insinuated. Period."
