In a chilling incident in Gurugram, 25-year-old state-level tennis player Radhika Yadav was allegedly shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav, at their residence in the upscale locality of Sushant Lok on Thursday. Police officials confirmed that Radhika was shot in the back while she was cooking in the kitchen. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

According to the police, as reported by news agency PTI, Deepak, aged 49, has been arrested, and a .32 bore licensed pistol has been recovered from his possession. Authorities revealed that more than five shots were fired during the attack. The motive behind the crime, however, remains unclear, and police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

At the time of the shooting, Radhika’s mother was on the ground floor of their double-storey home, while Radhika was in the kitchen on the first floor. The family resides in Sushant Lok Phase 2, Sector 57, an affluent neighbourhood in the city.
