The long overdue John Abraham-starrer may get fresh lease of life, starting with the film's gaane
Nagesh Kukunoor's long-in-the-pipeline John Abraham-starrer Aashayein is being injected with some hope of life.
The background score of the movie is being reworked to ensure that the project does see the light of day.
The film's composer duo, Salim-Sulaiman are re-editing the music. It is learnt that the film's makers wanted it to be drastically changed. Ironically, the music release of Aashayein was held in May 2008.

Shailendra Singh of Percept maintains, "I am unaware of the background score being re-edited. That must be Nagesh's call to fine tune the film. We are now finishing off with the paperwork of Aashayein. In the next few weeks, we will announce a release date." About the film's long delay, he says, "The problem arose when co-producers Reliance had several issues. This was followed by the recession and the producers' stir. Later, we had our other projects releasing. Then, John had a film (New York) releasing. Moreover, after the strike, there were so many projects releasing back-to-back. Aaashayein is a soft, gentle film and needs a proper timing to release."
After the response to his offbeat films Iqbal and Dor, Kukunoor had embarked upon another slice-of-life project Aashayein. John, who plays a compulsive gambler, had shed considerable weight for the film which was shot in Pondicherry.
Fact: Aashayein was to launch Sonal Sehgal as John's leading lady. But she now has Radio with Himesh Reshammiya releasing this week!
