Newbie actor Yashas, who is acting in Manju Swaraj's Shishira, spent two days at NIMHANS to get the feel of the character that he is going to portray in the movie.
"Shishira is an experimental film and the entire story happens within 12 hours. I play a college student who loses his mental balance, and so I felt that I should base my character on a strong scientific footing."
He says that director Manju suggested that he should go to NIMHANS and feels that visiting this mental health institute helped him a lot while acting. "I got good practical knowledge about the patients and the way they behaved, and while this was good for my acting, I felt bad because some of the patients suffered a lot. I even met some children there and I was very shaken by the experience," he adds.
