The current ICC Cricket World Cup has over 30 cricket commentators behind the mic. Harsha Bhogle, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid top the popularity charts among Mumbai's cricket fans

Gautam Sheth, 30, Sports communications consultant

Harsha Bhogle stands out. Simple language, immaculate understanding of the game and telling the listeners what’s not obvious are his strengths. His most remarkable feat in the box was during an England-India Test match. Nasser Hussain asked Harsha, “When can I see India playing in a football World Cup?” Bhogle quipped, “It’s better not to participate rather than getting knocked out in the first round.”

Mishil Shah, 23, Businessman

Harsha Bhogle, by far, is the best cricket commentator of our times. He is a wonderfully expressive orator to be precise. He is simple and crisp with his commentary and doesn’t beat around the bush with unnecessary metaphors. I remember, he once described Sachin Tendulkar’s performance as “a touch of class and a stamp of authority” and that just said it all!

Monish Moorthy, 27, Content manager

Due to a very uncooperative cable guy, all I have for the World Cup is Star Sports 3. The good thing is that I get to hear some of the newer crop of commentators. Shoaib Akhtar has been the most entertaining one, and his stints with Shoaib Malik are fun. RP Singh is refreshing, Kapil (Dev), Rameez (Raja) and Harsha (Bhogle) are witty though Dravid’s earnest commentary in Hindi plus insights make for good viewing.

Abhijit Gune, 45, Independent creative consultant

My favourite commentator this season is Sourav Ganguly as his views are just as an expert batsman, but also as a very successful captain of India. He displays good knowledge of skills and of the on-field strategies of the game. He sticks to commenting on the on-going game rather than indulge in cricket history.

Rukaiya Lokhandwala, 21, Digital marketing executive

Harsha Bhogle is my favourite ICC World Cup 2015 commentator. He has been a part of the world of cricket for more than a decade, and the analysis done by him is very accurate and unbiased.

Rhea Parekh, 23, Media professional

Harsha Bhogle’s enthusiasm is amazing and such fun to listen to, hence, he has always been my favourite. I also love the commentary of the calm and composed Rahul Dravid a.k.a ‘The Wall’.
