Turned vegan recently and wondering how to survive without dairy products? Sign up for No Moo - Plant-Based Dairy Alternatives workshops to be conducted by Vinita Contractor of Down 2 Hearth, a community that supports healthy, green and conscious living. "The workshop is also for those who may be lactose intolerant or someone who feels that milk doesn't agree with them," says Contractor, who took to a vegan lifestyle a few years back, after living with the community at Auroville in Pondicherry.

Contractor will teach you to make butter, yoghurt, cream, cheese, tofu, mayonnaise, ice cream and even white sauce - without using milk. "These are simple recipes where you substitute milk with alternatives like soy, almond, peanuts, cashews, etc. All you need is a good blender. The idea is to show guests a step-by-step method with measurements and get them to taste these products so that it's easier to replicate them at home," adds the self-taught cook, who will also offer a demo of Raw Chocolate Cheese Cake. All the recipes are also gluten and oil-free.
