The deceased identified as Nitesh Himmatlal Soni was found dead in a pool of blood at his residence in Malad East

A 27-year-old jeweller was found murdered on Saturday in his workshop in Malad East. The deceased identified as Nitesh Himmatlal Soni resided in a duplex house at Khot Kuwan road near Ranisati Marg Road in Malad East. While his residence was on the ground floor, he used the first floor for his workshop.

The Dindoshi police received a call from the police control room in the evening and they rushed to the spot to recover Nitesh Himmatla Soni's dead body. The deceased had an injury mark on the left side of his chest below and was found in his pool of blood.
The body was sent for an autopsy to Sidharth Nagar hospital in Goregaon and a murder case against an unknown person was registered by the police. During the investigation, it was revealed that the murder took place on the wee hours of Saturday. The deceased was into jewellery making business and was alone during the incident as his family was out on vacation to their native place.
According to the police, the main intention of the accused was robbery but how much jewellery was robbed is yet to be ascertained. The accused allegedly used a sharp object as the murder weapon, robbed the deceased and fled the crime scene. A police officer said, "We are checking the CCTV footage which is installed in the workshop and in the nearby locality. We are sure the accused would be caught shortly."

A 32-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband along with other family members when she objected regarding placing bets during Indian Premier League matches in Malda town, located in West Bengal. The woman's father alleged that the family committed the crime against the deceased after she protested on IPL betting. According to the police, the victim, identified as Arpita Dasgupta, was immediately rushed to the Malda Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) when she was in an unconscious state by her neighbours on Wednesday night. However, she was pronounced 'brought dead' by the doctors in the hospital in Malda, which is located around 327 km towards the north of West Bengal capital, Kolkata.
A court in Thane district awarded life imprisonment to a 48-year-old man for murdering a woman in his neighbourhood and attempting to kill her son-in-law over a petty dispute. District Judge G P Shirsat in his order on April 30 also imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 on the accused - Govind Ghorpade. According to the prosecution, Ghorpade's son threw a stone at a woman residing in their neighbourhood in Bhiwandi town on November 30, 2016 when she went to fetch water from a common tap located near her house. The woman complained to the accused about his son but the former misbehaved with her. Later, when the woman's mother, Malathi, and her husband Vicky Waghe went to Ghorpade, he had a heated argument with them following which he attacked them with a knife and injured them. Waghe and his mother-in-law Malathi were rushed to a hospital where the woman succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment, the prosecution told the court.
A doctor, who allegedly killed his former colleague after learning she was about to leave the city, was arrested from Roorkee while he was trying to end his life. The accused identified as Chandra Prakash Verma (27), was consumed by guilt over killing Garima Mishra and tried to end his life in Haridwar and Roorkee but was unsuccessful, they said. Verma was arrested by a team of Delhi Police's crime branch in the morning while he was trying to jump into the Ganga Nahar in Roorkee. He confessed to killing Mishra, 25, and said he was "over possessive" about her but she showed no interest in him, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) G Ram Gopal Naik said. Police used his call records and WhatsApp activities to trace him. The body of Mishra, a medical practitioner, was found with her throat slit at her rented accommodation late Tuesday night. The autopsy report revealed that she was throttled and smothered after being stabbed.
