'Mumbai man' on peace drive

One man, covering one country with one message for peace and unity. For Mumbai citizen Amit Lall, criss-crossing the country with this motto is not a trip moved by wanderlust.

Lall, who has already traversed 8,000 km, decided on the venture after the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai that had initially numbed him into disbelief about how a human being can take another's life in the name of religion.

Reaching the picturesque hilly town on Wednesday, the strapping youth said, "this mission is a message which will also convey our strong feelings to the enemies, that if they can't scare one ordinary Indian like me, with their cowardly act, how do they expect to scare the entire country."

"With this they should fathom the combined strength of the entire nation," Lall, who lost his mother in the gruesome Mumbai train blast last year, an incident which changed his view of life, said.

The young professional, who had set off on January 26 last, plans to visit the Meghalaya border and from Meghalaya towards other North Eastern States including Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and other states before returning to his home state-Maharashtra.

He plans to interact with armed personnel who are guarding borders and the people residing there.
