Pradeep Sebastian, chosen from 2,000 entries, will represent India at The Climate Project in Australia

Pradeep Sebastian (33), media consultant and a resident of Kammanahali, is off to Melbourne where he will train under former US vice-president Al Gore at The Climate Projectu00a0Australia Asia Pacific Summit from July 11-13. He was selected out of 2,000 applicants.

The climate crisis is a challenge for us and I'm looking forward to meeting Al Gore," said Pradeep.

The delegates were selected based on their commitment to raise awareness about climate change and their ability to communicate the message to audiences. "I have been working with various NGOs like Green Peace since 10 years.

I also own a website, www.aranyam.org, which advocates for the support of wildlife and nature," added Pradeep.

Angela Rutter, manager of The Climate Project, Australia, said, "The Summit has a specific focus on the unique window of time to act on climate change, particularly with the UNCCC Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December."

Sebastian will be trained to give a slide-show presentation from Gore's documentary.u00a0 After that Pradeep will have to complete 10 activities, including speaking to colleagues and students about climate change, delivering a presentation and creating awareness in India.

What is The Climate Project?

The Climate Project- Australia is Al Gore's climate change leadership programme with the Australian Conservation Foundation.

The Summit will bring together 300 people from a diverse cross-section of industry in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
