On Saturday, the city saw a dip in numbers from the past week’s, registering less than a 1,000 cases. The state recorded 8,623 new cases on Saturday, taking Maharashtra’s tally to 21.46 lakh cases.

The total number of COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours stands at 51, taking the total to 52,092 deaths in all.

While Mumbai saw 987 cases, sources said this is possibly due to drop in number of tests. Meanwhile, the Thane Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan Dombivli corporations continued to record cases in three digits-202, 116 and 189 respectively.

The state’s recovery rate stands at 94.14 per cent with 3,648 number of patients discharged on Saturday.
