Mumbai sees 803 fresh Covid-19 cases, 10 deaths reported

Daily cases in Mumbai remained below 1,000 on Tuesday. With increased tests, the city recorded its test positivity rate below 2. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, 803 cases were reported with 7 deaths in the city, while the TPR stood at 1.55 per cent. In the third wave, the highest TPR recorded in Mumbai has been 29.9 per cent on January 6.


Six of the COVID fatalities had comorbidities. While one of them was in the age group of 40- 60 year, the rest were above 60.


Around 81 percent of the patients turning positive on Tuesday were asymptomatic as 152 people were hospitalised of which 31 are in the oxygen bed. 


The recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 1,800 patients were discharged. The doubling rate improved and was at 485 days.

As per state government data, 14,372 new cases and 94 deaths were reported across the state. The state’s case-fatality rate dipped and was recorded at 1.84 per cent. A total of 30,093 people were discharged during the day. The state’s active cases were at 19,91,524 on Tuesday.

The MMR saw 1,961 infections. Thane Municipal Corporation and Navi Mumbai reported 200 and 329 cases respectively. While Navi Mumbai registered seven deaths,  Kalyan-Dombivili saw five deaths and Panvel reported four. No new Omicron cases were reported on Tuesday.
