The local train services in Mumbai, which were hit due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown, resumed for the general public from February 1. However, they are available for the common commuters only in three time slots: from the start of the day''s services to 7 am; 12 pm to 4 pm; and 9:00 pm to the end of the day.
In a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray as well as the railway authorities, Vichare said the current local train timings for the common man are inconvenient.
He urged the CM to change the schedule for the benefit of the commuters, so that their time is not wasted.
Recently, the Thane unit of the BJP had met railway officials and sought that the time slots allotted to general commuters for the local train travel be revoked.
