'Major Uppan Saini and I will start our run on 13th in support of the OROP. We will run through Ambala, Patiala, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Jammu, Kathua and Srinagar. On our way, I will meet army veterans,' said Singh.
He also mentioned that this run would be a world record, adding 'It will be a personal record for me, as no 100 percent amputee has ever run at 12,500 feet.'
The OROP scheme has been a long-standing demand of nearly three-million ex-servicemen and war widows in the country.
It seeks to ensure that a uniform pension is paid to defence personnel, who retire at the same rank with the same length of service irrespective of their date of retirement.
