Addressing students at the International Institute of Information Technology (I2IT) at Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjewadi yesterday, Suhas Gopinath, the 23-year-old youngest Indian entrepreneur, said that the economic slowdown has been hyped.
"The fear psychosis amongst IT professionals could be beaten if they concentrate on innovation and entrepreneurship," he said. Stressing that India has a rich reserve of talent and capitalists, he said that young IT professionals and students should start their own enterprises rather than looking out for jobs.
Referring to his engineering education, which he couldn't complete, Gopinath said that he's interested in professionals with IT skills. Also, speaking about his mantra for success, he said, "Wherever I have worked, I've created computer software that could save money and increase business volumes by about 15 per cent."
He even revealed the fact that he was inspired by the proprietor of a cyber cafu00e9 in Bangalore where he used to work. Gopinath's Globals Inc. develops software for IT enabled services employs around 400 people and operates in 11 countries across the globe.
