Woman horse trainer Reshma Kaur alleges that Auto Raja, a voluntary social worker, is keeping her ailing father captive, while the father says his daughter tortured him.

A woman horse trainer and former Air India air hostess has claimed that Auto Raja, a self-styled messiah for the destitute in the city is forcibly keeping her father in his ashram in order to take control of their palatial house and convert it into an old-age home. Police found the father at the ashram after he was reported missing.u00a0

Reshma Kaur or Reshma Ghodewalli, founder of erstwhile Shri Chhatrapati Horse Training Academy, Mumbai, said that T Auto Raja, the brain behind House of Hope, a non-governmental shelter for old and homeless wants to hijack her family house with 22 rooms and 11 bathrooms in Whitefield.u00a0

Panic-stricken
She added that her father K Vaidyanath (90), a retired Indian Railways GM, did not want to return home as Raja had promised a room for him and his ailing wife. The house, which originally belongs to Kaur's mother Sarasavani Vaidyanath, was transferred in Kaur's name on November 23 through a gift deed. Vaidyanath also signed the transfer papers as a witness.

"My father is no destitute. Why does Raja want to give him a room? He is trying to make my father convince my mother to revoke the deed to hijack this haveli," said Kaur.

On January 31, Vaidyanath set out from home saying that he was going to meet his friends, but did not return. The next day, a panic-stricken Kaur went to the Whitefield police station with her father's photograph to file a complaint. She found out that the police had found her father on steps of a temple and sent him to Raja's shelter.

"When I tried to get my father back, the staffu00a0 at the shelter stopped. I was told to bring a NOC certificate from the police station to bring him home," said Kaur. However, she alleged that despite showing the NOC next day, she was not allowed to get her father home.

The plot thickens
Vaidyanath, on the other hand, alleged that Kaur had driven him out the house that particular evening.
He also said that she had forced him and his wife to transfer all their money and the house.

"I don't want the house. She has tortured me and my wife incessantly. Now I want to pass my life here with my wife," he said. Raja denied that there was any scuffle between Kaur and his staff.

He said that the only reason he wanted a NOC was because Vaidyanath refused to go with his daughter.
"I am not interested in the haveli. If she gives me in writing that she will take care of her parents, I will happily let him go," said Raja.

'It's a family matter'
PSI B N Gopalakrishna, who had issued a NOC to Kaur said that he had sent two officers with Kaur to get her father. However, Vaidyantah refused saying that he was tortured and beaten at home by his daughter.u00a0 "It is a family matter. We cannot do anything legally if the father does not want to. I have requested the father to take two days and think it over," he said.
