Mumbai resident claims the airline issued him a boarding pass in someone else's name while flying from Ranchi to Delhi
What would you do if you board a flight and notice that the boarding pass issued to you is not in your name? Mumbai resident Prashant Raj became a victim of this situation while flying by Jet Airways recently. Both the passengers were issued boarding passes in the same name, while travelling from Ranchi to Delhi.

Mid-air crisis
"I was booked on the flight 9W 2292 from Ranchi to Delhi on the 16th of July 2011 (PNR- PESYRF). I checked in for my flight on time and was issued a boarding pass. When I finally boarded the flight I realised that the boarding pass that I had been issued was in the name of Achintya Paul who had already boarded the flight.
I raised the issue with the on board staff who asked me to sit on any vacant seat and said that I could file a complaint for the same at the Jet Airways counter at Delhi airport where the issue would be resolved. I did point out the fact that this was a security breach but was told that the matter would be taken care of," explained Prashant who lives in Mumbai, but was travelling to Delhi on business.
Prashant also alleged that instead of acknowledging the lapse on their behalf, airline officials misbehaved with him. "After reaching Delhi I spoke to Punit from Jet Airways who redirected the matter to Lovesh Kheda who was present at the airlines counter.
I was told that this was a fault at the passenger's end and the airline cannot take any responsibility. When I requested that my complaint be registered and I should be given a proof, I was provided with a register where I could write a complaint. The register however, had no page numbers or serial numbers. So I therefore decided to take a photograph of the complaint that I had written. When I tried that Lovesh Kheda from Jet Airways manhandled me and tried to snatch my phone," said Prashant who works as a strategy consultant in the media industry.
No redressal
"My only request to Jet Airways was that they either register my complaint or issue me my boarding pass so that I could claim re-imbursement for my ticket. However, the staff at Jet completely ignored the fact that this was a serious lapse at their end and instead resorted to unwarranted threatening behaviour," said Prashant.
The Other Side
Despite repeated attempts by MiD DAY there was no official reply from the airline on the matter. Airline officials claimed that the allegation made by the passenger was baseless and he was not manhandled.
