The victim, Poonam, lives in Jangpura area of Sun Light colony in south-east Delhi along with her family. Her husband has a property dispute with his parents. The property dispute case is being looked after by the local police. The victim has alleged that SHO VKPS Yadav has been bribed by her father-in-law and mother-in-law.
"The SHO since then has been harassing me and my husband. He has threatened us with dire consequences and has said that he will implicate us in a false case," alleged the victim.
Hostage situation?
The victim further alleged that the SHO used to call her on her cellphone to call her to the police station and demanded personal favours. "Once I was held hostage by the SHO inside a room at the police station. They forced me to compromise with my in-laws and when I refused, they said they will put me in jail," she said.
The victim also said that once the SHO had made up a false case under CrPC 107/151 against her husband, to pressurise them. According to the victim, the SHO was paid Rs 20,000 by her brother-in-law to file the false case against them.
Speaking with MiD DAY, additional commissioner of police, south-east Delhi, Ajay Chaudhry said police is looking into the matter. "The case is in vigilance," he said. He also said that the SHO is being transferred, but added that it was a routine step and has nothing to do with the case.
The other side
The accused SHO called the whole story a fictitious account. "It is a case of property dispute and this couple thrashed and harassed the parents. I never called up. She came along with her husband for defending him. If these allegations were correct, why would she approach the media
after three months of the incident?"u00a0 Yadav said.
