To celebrate the World Book and Copyright Day, Indian Reprographic Rights Organisation (IRRO), in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP), organised a high level two-day seminar on ‘Copyright and the Publishing Industry’ on April 23-24 in New Delhi.

The primary objective of the seminar was, as spelt out by Anand Bhushan, Secretary General, IRRO, while welcoming the participants from India and abroad, as how to adapt and to adopt the revolutionary changes that have taken place in the publishing world from printed-on-paper text to the “virtual world” or the “digital text”. “Book publishing is going through its second birth,” said Bhushan.
The well-attended seminar ended with a vote of thanks by the Managing Director of Cambridge University Press India Manas Pratim Saikia. u00a0
