It's been three months and the family of National Defence Academy (NDA) cadet Nitesh Gour (19) still doesn't know the reason behind their son's death, who died under mysterious circumstances during routine marathon practice on July 2.
Passing the buck
Nitesh's younger brother, Nirvesh, said they are sent from one department to the other to get his pathology and chemical analysis reports. "We have been calling the NDA authorities every 15 days, but they claim that they are yet to receive the post-mortem report. Also, they keep passing the buck on to Sassoon Hospitals, which too isn't responding," he said.
While the hastopathology report a test of the urinary tract should've been ready in 15 days, the chemical analysis tests take almost three months. This means they should be ready by now. However, Dr Warble, head of Sassoon Hospital's post-mortem department, seemed clueless about the reports. "I have not received any reports as of now. They must not be ready because usually they are submitted to me as soon as they're ready. I assume they are still with the chemical analyser," he said.
Unsure
When MiD DAY contacted the NDA, we were told that they'd received some report from the hospital, but are unsure about its nature.
Captain Mahendra Dimri from the NDA said, "We are not sure about the contents of the report." However, Sassoon Hospital denies sending any kind of report to the NDA.
