Four people were injured in an accident between two trucks on the Katraj-Dehu bypass around 4.15 am yesterday.
Two of the victims were trapped in their truck cabin and local residents and policemen trying to rescue them had to summon the fire brigade to bring them out.

The rescue operation lasted about 45 minutes. The police said one of the trucks had stopped in front of the Vishwas hotel on the bypass when another truck moving in the direction of Bangalore rammed it from behind.
The injured people were identified as truck drivers Satish Nagnath Jadhav and Shiva Jalider Devkar (20), Mohammed Saddam Ramjan Ali and Adinath Goraksh Bhakare. The police said Ali and Bhakare suffered multiple injuries.
“Four victims, including the accused Mohammed Saddam Ramjan Ali, have been admitted to Sassoon General Hospital and are critical,” Police Inspector Shivaji Devkar of the Haveli police station said. u00a0
