After the clash yesterday evening, a jewellery shop was also looted by unidentified persons, further fueling tension in Farid Nagar area, about 8 km from Modi Nagar.
An argument started when members of a community objected to use of loudspeakers during the proceedings at a religious site of another community, which is situated in front of their place of worship, police said.
The argument led to clash between members of the two communities. Many vehicles were set afire, they said.
"Around 4-5 persons were injured in the incident. One policeman also sustained injury. They suffered minor injuries. No one had to be hospitalised. An FIR has been registered against 24 named and 200 unnamed persons," said Brijesh Sharma, SHO of Bhojpur police station.
