Varun Mehta was a man in a hurry. He was miserable with his life and he chose a 'Duranto' (swift) end for it.
Mehta, who had brutally killed his girlfriend of more than five years on Sunday evening in east Delhi, fled to Mathura. There, he jumped in front of a speeding Delhi-bound Duranto Express on Monday afternoon at around 1 pm.

Mehta, son of a high-profile Delhi lawyer, died on the spot. The Government Railway Police at Mathura station found Rs 9,000 in cash, a mobile phone without a SIM card and an ID card on his body.
The body was sent for post-mortem and the Delhi police was informed. The cops in turn informed Mehta's family about the incident.
A GRP official posted at Mathura station told MiD DAY that Mehta was sitting on platform number one for some time but he got up after the passage of the Duranto Express was announced. "He jumped before the train, before anybody could even react," he said.
A bloody affair
Varun and Deepshikha studied together in Maharaja Agrasen College and were reportedly planning to get married. However, for some time Varun was suspicious that Deepshikha was having an affair with another guy, as she was behaving differently.u00a0

There he brutally stabbed Deepshikha to death. Police sources revealed that Deepshikha had stab wounds on her private parts too.
