A quiet homecoming

Pankaj Advani returned to the city after conquering the world. But there was no one from the state apart from his close family and friends to welcome the young man who lets his cue do the talking for him

There was no one from the state government, no cops, no crazy fan or hysteric mob to welcome home a world champion.

Pankaj Advani, the new world professional billiard champion, was welcomed by an ecstatic brother, mother and some close friends at the Bangalore International Airport at around 3am early today morning.

Some Karnataka Billiards Association members were also present at the airport to receive him. The mood was quite sober, just like the champ himself.

The tired yet composed Punkaj told the waiting media, "I am very happy. I hope my win adds inspirational value to the cueists of the country."

Earlier, Pankaj's mother Kajal and brother, Shree treated everyone waiting for the champ to coffee.
