New yatra to Adi Kailash-Mansarovar offers a 169-km trek at very affordable rate

It's summer and you need to flee from Delhi's heat. How about trekking to the land of gods?

Tourist paradise Uttarakhand is offering a new high the Adi Kailash Mansarovar Yatra taking you halfway to Kailash.

What's even better is that the 169-km trek throughu00a0 one of the toughest terrains in the country comes at a dirt-cheap rate. The first batch of trekkers has already left.

"This is a 169-kilometre trek, which by far is the longest and the most challenging of all.

Nearly 16 groups will be participating in this particular trek.

The first group had 47 members of which the eldest was a 67-year-old man and the youngest was 22 year old," said the state's Tourism Minister Prakash Pant.

The minister also added that a lifetime of experience can be gained from such a tour which is reasonably priced at Rs 17,500 only.

Among the 112 trekking routes in the state, the longest is the one to Adi Kailash. Pant said, "It maybe difficult but is worth all the pain.

A participant is also required to undergo medical tests before embarking on his journey. The costs of these tests are included in the total sum."
