New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday referred plea of various government authorities and financial institution for clarification of interim order to a larger bench in connection to the Aadhar card matter.

The larger bench would decide whether Aadhar card can be used for schemes other than PDS and LPG as sought by Central Government, RBI, SEBI and others.
Earlier, the apex court had come out with an interim order, saying the Aadhar card is not mandatory for the citizens to avail services and welfare schemes other than PDS, food grain distribution, cooking fuel/LPG.
