A 16-year-old girl who had been kidnapped form outside a hospital in Dhaula Kuan area was rescued by the south Delhi police.




The police said though she had been missing from March 9, her mother reported the incident to the police on March 17. "For eight days, she had been searching for her daughter thinking that she might have gone to one of her relative's house but as couldn't find her anywhere, she approached the police," the official added.

An FIR was lodged at Dhaula Kuan police station on March 17. Several teams of senior officials were roped into the investigation. "Neha's mother gave the police some tip-off about Kishan ( He used to work in the same hospital from outside of which Neha was kidnapped). The police contacted hospital authorities and got some clue regarding his whereabouts. A team was then sent to Patna and several raids were conducted by the police at Kishan's relatives' places there," said the official.

He added Kishan was finally arrested and Neha rescued on April 7. A medical examination confirmed that Neha had been raped. "After getting the medical report of Neha, we added section 376 (rape) to the FIR," said the police official.

25-year-old rapes minor
The police on Saturday arrested a 25-year-old man from Govindpuri area of south east Delhi for allegedly raping a minor. "The accused, who happened to be the victim's neighbour, took her to an isolated place on Saturday evening and raped her. The girl later narrated the incident to her family members who informed the police. She was taken to AIIMS where medical test confirmed the rape. The accused was arrested on Sunday morning," said the police. However, the police did not reveal the name of the accused.
