Senegalese-American R&B pop star Akon will arrive in the garden city on April 17 at 12 pm, a day after celebrating his 38th birthday. The star will fly in from Gurgaon, accompanied by his wife and 22 crewmembers.

"From the airport, a cavalcade of luxury cars will proceed to where the group will be staying. Akon will be travelling in a black Hummer with wife Tomeka Robinson, followed by a Jaguar, seating actor and friend Sunil Shetty,u00a0 and an Audi Q7 carrying the event organisers. Eight Toyota Innovas carrying his crew will complete the entourage," said Ramesh Vagrecha, Chairman of BM group, a city-based event management company that is organising the Akon concert in the city.

He is arriving ahead of his concert at Palace Ground and will be staying at the presidential suite in Crowne Plaza in Electronic City. Several bodyguards and security personnel will constantly surround the singer.u00a0u00a0"He wants to celebrate his birthday by reaching out to all his fans in India" said Sujith Jain, MD and organiser of Netsurf Entertainment, anu00a0 event management company.

"Akon loves Indian curries and would like to try out all the authentic dishes from Karnataka and loves visiting historical places," added Sujith.He also informed that the rapper would not be staying for long as he is scheduled to leave on the morning of April 18.
