Anti-corruption activist returns to his native village Ralegan in Maharashtra after being discharged from Medanta hospital
74-year old anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare has been discharged from the hospital where he was admitted immediately after he broke his 12-day fast this Sunday. Hazare was admitted in Medanta- The Medicity, under the charge of Dr Naresh Trehan, who has been monitoring his health from the very first day of the fast.
The activist left from the back door to avoid the media, which was present in strength outside the hospital premises.

"Hazare took solid food for the first time today since being admitted to the hospital. His blood pressure is normal now and all the other tests also showed good results. His condition is near normal," said Dr Trehan, chairman and CEO, Medanta on Wednesday.
Hazare's blood-pressure was 140/90, which is normal, and his pulse rate was 80 per minute. He has also gained 400 gm in 24 hours and now weighs 67 kg. The doctor said ketone presence in his urine is normal now and his liver and kidneys were functioning well.
Shortly after he was discharged from Medanta, the 74-year-old Gandhian flew out of the Capital in a scheduled commercial flight of a private airline. The anti-corruption crusader is returning to Ralegan Siddhi village to be in time for the commencement of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations today, nearly three weeks after he came to the Capital to launch his indefinite fast that shook the nation.
