Khan, who has been part of his school and college magazines, did his BBA in IT from Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies & Research at Model Colony. "But I didn't want to get into hardcore IT," said Khan.
Goal
According to Khan, his college magazine was totally non-existent and the idea as he presented, along with a senior, faced rejection. But this did not bog him down. He stepped out of the college domain and did a two-month internship with viewspaper.net. "I worked at the backend part, updating articles, etc, and realised my goal."
At home
Khan spent his childhood and schooling in Saudi, but calls Pune home. "I don't want to move out of Pune," he said.
"The magazine defines the current mainstream lifestyle. I'd like to replicate lifestyle sections of New York Times or Guradian of UK," he added.
While the website is one half of his work, doing events is another. Recently, he organised a book reading session by writer and poet Randhire Khare, "who performed rather than reading aloud".
Another event was a discussion on 'Myths About Lifestyles' and the speakers included Randhir Khare and fashion designer Nivedita Saboo, who designed for Bollywood film Tarzan.
This young entrepreneur is likely to have his hands full in future. "I want to keep supporting tossedsalad, and this year I've started a design firm called Three November - which is my birthday," added Khan.
