Get lost in the world of abstract and Fluid Forms with a new photo art show that opens tomorrow

Everything that's clear is not picture perfect. Especially for artists, the 'ambiguity' always works because the abstract shapes and vision never stop charmingu00a0-- that's the outlook of Farah Ahmed, a young Bangalore-based photographer whose 29 lens works will be on display from tomorrow.

Untrue reflections
Visualition of an open mindu00a0-- It's this aspect that binds the entire line of work in the photog's first outing in the Capital. Farah has shot the reflection of objects like trees, flowers and buildings that can be visualised in numerous ways by different people. Sample this, a building will be a concrete structure for you but for a child it could be a mountain, or simple blocks of construction toys.

Are photos, art?
Fluid Forms is an assortment of painting-like photographs marked by lighter earthier tones. When asked what inspired her to blend photography and paintings, the 27-year-old artist says, "The concept of merging two art forms is new in our country, which itself is inspiring. Secondly photography is still not considered 'art', a perception that I want to change through my works. The works are photographs (unedited and untouched in anyway) pasted on canvas.

Having been deeply inspired by the works of stalwart photographer like Raghu Rai and legendary artists like Ansel Adams and Alfred Stieglitz, Farah adds, "Anyone can click a beautiful photo, but I like to capture the reflections of subjects and not the subject itself."

The photo-like paintings are closer to nature and exclude human beings from the frame. "Human beings, when clicked are already set in a mood or an emotion, which doesn't inspire me. In her works, featured here, Farah has captured simple moments that we ignore because of the chaotic life we're used to. ," says the young artist.u00a0 Fluid Forms will also move to Hyderabd and Bombay.
