Magic Parlour at Aundh is easy to locate thanks to the hordes of working professionals and students who gather over there religiously in the evenings. Though the menu does not throw up anything new, the casual surroundings offer a perfect spot to hang out with your pals.

Range: They offer various home-made fruit ice-creams, chilled and sweet Mastanis (made from ice-cream and syrup), thick-shakes, colourful golas, slush and a unique concoction called Cad-B (which is inspired by Cadbury chocolates).

Ambience: The two-tiered structure housing the parlour is minimal in terms of du00e9cor. You can either sit on the chairs outside enjoying the breeze or head upstairs for a better view of the surroundings. While the ground floor houses the kitchen and the cash counter, the upper floor is full of tables and chairs. The crowds seem to prefer sitting outdoors.

We tried: Magic Parlour's claim-to-fame is Cad-B (Rs 60), a combo of chocolate ice-cream, vanilla and chocolate crush with toppings of grated chocolate. Though, it tasted delicious, it was not too different from the regular chocolate ice-cream. Recommended only for chocoholics and those who need a sugar rush. The refreshing but extra-sweet Cold Coffee (Rs 30 for half a glass) was garnished with grated chocolate. The Badam Thick Shake (Rs 40) was a mixture of vanilla and badam ice-cream blended with badam syrup. However, if you can stand the badam overdose, you will realise it is just another milk shake. Beware, all the items have funky names but offer nothing new and are extra sweet. The prices are quite reasonable and the quantities generous.

Service: Being a self-service joint, you collect your token number, wait in queue to pay the bill and then proceed to get the shakes and ice-creams. However, don't take too long poring over the menu because chances are that the attendant sitting at the counter may bark at you.
